New things.

Dia De Los Muertos was good this year. We went to the Museum of Art and Crafts and Alice made sugar skulls, and big tissue paper flowers.

Afterward, we stopped for some pasta time. We would have done the food trucks, but it was cold, and Alice had just gotten over pneumonia. Poor lovey.



For thanksgiving, we went all natural, and made everything from scratch. The Turkey was from a local farm and had never taken part in drug activity. Which is a bonus.

Alice made her own pie. Recipe by me. Pie crust recipe by Sam Vereb.

What a great Thanksgiving. So glad to have my family.
Now..off to clean my house.

Absentee

I haven't updated in a while.
I know, There are no excuses... But really!!... i just got done organizing Fashion Week!! Thank God it's over! It was so much work, but it was pretty much a success!

Now, Alice and i went to play putput tonight. i only had my phone, so no Great pictures, but I do have a few other great pictures!

We live in Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby. Which just took place.
Congrats to "Animal Kingdom," his trainers, and owners, and his jockey, on their fabulous win!

Update

Haven't updated as much lately. I have been so busy with school.
Alice is amazing. I am remembering every day why I am so lucky. She is the sunshine in my life.
We saw a squirrel on our poarch today.He was picking little bites of eatery out of the pots on the ledge. Alice was so excited. It totally reminds me of how it will be spring soon!
The warm weather was just so beautiful for about a week. And now it's cold again. Today was nice but chilly. I got a much needed nap, and Alice spent a little time with nana.
She went to the store, and nana got her a Tangled Book that comes with a special hair peice that glows like magical rapunzel hair!
She had so much fun reading the story with me and acting out every moment of the movie we saw together not too long ago. Disney did a great job, and we totally loved it. Mommy may have gotten a little teary eyed a few times. :)
I'm a sucker.

Zoo Exploration, Friends, and Lush Baths

Alice and I woke up late, and headed for the zoo.
We had a delicious lunch, made some animal friends, and ran into Alice's school friends!

Then we came home, had family time, and enjoyed the beautiful sunset and warm weather. Alice played basketball and rode her bigwheel, while I cleaned my car out.
It was much needed, believe me! I found neat things in there, and some not so neat things.
Then we came in, had some dinner, and took a Lush, st patricks day, Gold and Rainbow, bath.

Old friends, new babies.

My old friend Linsey got ahold of me the other day and stopped into my school with her 2 month old baby, Jolee.
Beautiful girl!
We decided to go pick Alice up from school, and go to her house to make homemade pizzas.

My daughter is currently vaccuuming the living room rug, sweeping the hard wood, and wearing her new shoes with no pants.
Her shoe game is now off the heezy.
She just got a pair of athletic pumas, all black, new old school vans, three pairs of chucks, and rainboots.

g'night Moon.

Awesome! and crayons.

So, I found on another blog, where some folks have recycled their broken crayons into huge heart shaped rainbow crayons by melting them in cupcake tins.
So we gave it a try tonight! It worked out okay, but we left them in a little long, and the colors kinda mixed, so i think the trick is melting them JUUUST enough. ;)

We went to the viewing of the Amazing Race where a few old friends are back on the show.
They're living in LA now, so we don't get to see them much.
Alice is their biggest (little) fan! GO KENT & VYXSIN! Louisville loves and misses you!







Back to school tomorrow! bah humbugh.

So, I got my new camera, and since I don't know much about photography, I'm learning one thing a day, and practicing.
Today, it was how to shoot while looking at the LCD screen, which on my camera, you can't do while you're on automatic, so it's kinda weird. i had to learn a lot about positioning myself to focus with my lens. I really want a 150mm and a fisheye.
Those are really the only two lenses I see myself getting any time soon.. =)

Anyways, we hung out with a best friend today. We saw Rango. The Depp movie with the Lizard. It was somewhat dark, and dragged a little. But all together, it was a cute movie, and very creative!

Then, we all went to the store, and loaded up on supplies to make a chore chart, a menu/ meal chart, and a playdoh icecream maker of course!

Anyways, here is my first day of learning. Tell me what you think!

We went to Glassworks on Sunday. Alice made a glass window hanging.
She was so excited and did a great job.
I was happy to see her making art. It's done so much for me in the past, that I want her to feel calm, and creative too.
Her 5th birthday is Monday. So, Sunday we are having a candyland party. I will post pictures of that! I'm inviting her whole class this year, our family, and my friends' kids. It will be big!
Here's to celebrating my child's life.
Mine changed 5 years ago, and every day with my daughter gets better.
